French president says country has won the first battle in the Covid-19 "war"

Emmanuel Macron made an address to the French people on Sunday evening, urging them to stay vigilant as he announced that all cafes and restaurants across the country can now open fully again.

The French president also said that all primary and secondary schools would re-open from June 22.
