N. Korea threatens to sever all communications with S. Korea

North Korea has threatened to sever all communications with South Korea as tensions rise between the two countries. Pyongyang called Seoul 'the enemy' and said this would be just the first in a series of actions.

Democrats unveil police reform legislation

Democrats in Congress have unveiled legislation to implement widespread reforms of police forces across the US.

But many protestors demanding change after the death of George Floyd, an unarmed black man in police custody, are also calling on lawmakers to "defund the police."

More gains on Wall Street following surprise jobs report

The U.S. markets started the trading week in buoyant mood with
investors still reacting to Friday's far better-than-expected jobs
data.

Many economists expected a further nine million jobs to be lost last
month but the unemployment rate actually fell in May.

First Court Appearance for Former Police Officer Accused of George Floyd's Murder

Bail has been set for former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin — a white officer accused of murdering African American George Floyd by kneeling on Floyd's neck during an arrest two weeks ago…It was Chavin's first court appearance.

200 arrested and statues defaced in Belgium BLM protests

Thousands took to the streets of Brussels on Sunday for a mass demonstration in support of the Black Lives Matter movement and opposing police brutality against people of colour.

Some 200 people were arrested. 

Belgian health authorities are warning there could be a spike in the rate of COVID19 infection following the demonstration.

Public visitation for George Floyd in Houston while Biden meets his family

Thousands of mourners are expected in the Texas city of Houston to pay their respects to George Floyd, whose death in police custody has sparked protests around the world.


The public will be able to view the 46-year-old's casket on Monday, while Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden is expected to meet privately with his family.

MAYOR OF BRISTOL "NO SENSE OF LOSS" OVER FELLED STATUE

Quarantine rules for UK arrivals begin

New rules requiring all people arriving in the UK to self-isolate for 14 days have come into effect.

UK QUARANTINE FOR INTERNATIONAL ARRIVALS BEGINS

New rules have come into effect in the UK, requiring 14 days of self-isolation for all international arrivals.
