UK PM BACK AT WORK 'SOON'

UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson should be back at work 'soon', according to one of his colleagues.

There's still no date for his full return to Prime Ministerial duties, however, after his period in intensive care with coronavirus.

Mr Johnson was hospitalised earlier this month and said his life had been saved by staff at St Thomas's hospital in London.

Cabinet member Brandon Lewis says he's gradually taking on more and more, but won't rush his return.

China Slams Missouri Lawsuit

China has slammed a lawsuit filed by the US state of Missouri over its handling of the coronavirus outbreak.

Foreign Ministry spokesperson Geng Shang called it "purely malicious", and added that it was against basic legal principles.

President Trump Signs Immigration Executive Order

Markets rebound as oil prices stabilize

U.S. stocks bounced back Wednesday after two days of heavy losses as

Spain reports second daily increase in death toll this week

Spain has reported a slight increase in the death toll for the second day running, with another 435 in the last 24 hours. 

That brings the total to nearly 22,000.

Spain has suffered the third-highest number of deaths in the world after the US and Italy.

Over 40 Killed in DR Congo Floods

Confusion over whether UK decided not to take part in EU corornavirus scheme

The UK government is facing fresh questions over the time it took to join an EU scheme to source key medical equipment.

 

British officials initially insisted they did not receive an invitation, but Brussels claims the UK was given ample opportunity to take part, despite leaving the European Union in January.

Tanzania: French Embassy Directs €500,000 to Epidemic Prevention

This was revealed in a statement issued yesterday by French Ambassador to Tanzania Frederic Clavier. Central Bank of Nigeria’s $129 million COVID-19 fund disbursement begins Thursday

Concern mounts in India as 80% coronavirus patients turn out to be asymptomatic
