New York to establish one mile coronavirus containment area just north of Manhattan

New York is establishing a one mile containment area in a bid to stem
the spread of the Covid-19 outbreak.

There have been 173 confirmed cases of the coronavirus across the
state but the majority are in Westchester County, just north of
Manhattan.

Grand Princess Couple Sues Ship's Operator

A couple onboard the Grand Princess cruise ship docked in Oakland, California, has filed a lawsuit against the ship's operator. 

They're accusing Princess Cruise Lines of gross negligence, in allowing them to be exposed to coronavirus on the ship.

U.S. airlines cut more flights due to coronavirus outbreak


American Airlines and Delta are cutting more flights as demand plummets due to the coronavirus outbreak.

Markets rebound after Monday’s historic selloff

U.S. markets have opened trading Tuesday in positive territory buoyed

Coronavirus: UK cases expected to rise

Five people have now died from coronavirus in the UK, and Britain will see "many thousands" contract the virus, according to the country's Deputy Chief Medical Officer.

 

The elderly or those with even a mild fever may be asked to self-isolate and stay at home in the coming weeks.

Italy applies lockdown measures to entire country in bid to stop spread of coronavirus

Italy has announced the most dramatic measures seen so far to try to stop the spread of the coronavirus - by locking down the entire country.

The prime minister announced that all of Italy will now be a so-called 'protected zone' following another rise in the number of dead in the country, to 463.

Trump refuses to say whether he's been tested for coronavirus

President Trump has refused to say whether he's been tested for coronavirus after coming into contact with at least three people who are in quarantine after they met carriers of the disease.


The President, speaking after a day of turmoil on New York's financial markets, insisted his government is handling the crisis "very well".

UK HOLDS OFF ON "SOCIAL DISTANCING" PLANS

New York confirms 142 cases of coronavirus including head of Port Authority

The Governor of New York, Andrew Cuomo, says there are now 142 confirmed coronavirus cases in the state:  that's the highest total anywhere in the US.


The head of the New York Port Authority is one of those who tested positive after making several trips to ports and airports to oversee the state's response to the virus.


But Governor Cuomo - who is closing schools in one section of the state - told reporters he believes that sensible precautions like hand-washing will help contain the virus.

Oil prices send global stocks tumbling

U.S. stocks fell nearly seven percent when the markets opened Monday
