A Chinese national who was quarantined after coughing severely at Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos state southwest Nigeria, has tested negative for coronavirus.

Russia committed war crimes, according to UN report

Thailand is scared of 'little ghosts'

The Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha has called an emergency meeting on Wednesday to discuss the plight of illegal workers in South Korea, known there as 'little ghosts'. He is concerned that many may try to come back to Thailand to escape the growing number of coronavirus cases.

In Australia, Sparks have flown during a Senate estimates hearing as the Labor Opposition attempted to elicit an admission that use of images of defence force personnel that appear in a video produced by the government about their bushfire response during the emergency in December was unconscionable.

Before all the Super Tuesday democratic primary votes had been counted one of the five remaining Candidates, Mike Bloomberg, suggested he'd stay in the race regardless of the outcome.

Million of democratic voters cast their ballots in 14 states across the US in the biggest day of the 2020 election season so far.

Super Tuesday voting underway in US

Millions of Americans are heading to the polls as Democrats in fourteen states and one US territory vote for the candidate they want to see challenge Donald Trump for the presidency.

Bernie Sanders is the current frontrunner but former vice president Joe Biden is gaining momentum with two other moderate candidates pulling out of the race and endorsing him.

The other centrist - billionaire Mike Bloomberg - has spent hundreds of millions of dollars on advertising in Super Tuesday voting states.

EU offers Greece 'full support' to deal with Turkish border controls

European leaders have declared solidarity with Athens, following Turkey's decision to reopen the migrant channel at its western border.

UK government unveils coronavirus 'action plan'


The British Army could be deployed to provide support to emergency services as part of the UK government's 'action plan' to tackle the coronavirus crisis. 

Prime Minister Boris Johnson warned in a statement on Tuesday that it's "highly likely" that there'll be a "significant expansion" in UK cases, as the total number rose to more than 50.

But he also reassured the public that coronavirus is "just a mild disease" from which most people will recover, and that everybody should continue to go about their business as usual.
