Russia to ban entry for Chinese citizens over coronavirus

Russian authorities in charge of coronavirus prevention said the country will suspend entry of Chinese citizens to its territory starting Thursday. PASSENGERS LEAVE DIAMOND PRINCESS

Passengers have been disembarking the Diamond Princess cruise ship that has been quarantined in Japan for more than a fortnight.

The ship has become the site of more than five-hundred coronavirus infections - the most outside of China.

A UK repatriation flight is expected to take off in the coming days.

The UK government has unveiled plans for a points-based immigration system that won't offer visas to low-skilled migrant workers.

Ministers say employers will need to move away from a reliance on "cheap Labour" from Europe after Brexit.

The government says it will be fairer and give the UK more control.

Jury deliberations begin in Weinstein trial

A jury has begun deliberations in the trial of media mogul Harvey Weinstein.

Weinstein has pleaded not guilty to five felony charges including rape
and predatory sexual assault.

Dozens of women accuse him of sexual misconduct and the case is seen
as a landmark moment in the MeToo movement.

Trump Commutes Blagojevich Sentence

Boy Scouts of America files for bankruptcy

The Boy Scouts of America has filed for bankruptcy as it deals with a wave of lawsuits over allegations of sexual abuse.

Bankruptcy will enable the Scouts to put those lawsuits on hold for now in the hope of working out a potentially enormous victim compensation plan that will allow the  organisation to carry on.

HSBC ANNOUNCE JOB LOSSES

HSBC, one of the largest banking and financial services organisations in the world, says it's axing around 35,000 jobs as it announced profits for 2019 fell by about a third.


The bank will now target $4.5bn of cost cuts by 2022 as part of a major restructuring.
