UK UNVEILS NEW POST-BREXIT IMMIGRATION RULES

The UK government has unveiled plans for a points-based immigration system that won't offer visas to low-skilled migrant workers.

Ministers say employers will need to move away from a reliance on "cheap Labour" from Europe after Brexit.

Industry leaders are warning the changes could "spell disaster" for the care, farming, construction and hospitality sectors.

The government says it will be fairer and give the UK more control.

The shadow immigration minister Bell Ribeiro-Addy says the concept is flawed.
