The Boy Scouts of America has filed for bankruptcy as it deals with a wave of lawsuits over allegations of sexual abuse.
Bankruptcy will enable the Scouts to put those lawsuits on hold for now in the hope of working out a potentially enormous victim compensation plan that will allow the organisation to carry on.
