U.S. President Donald Trump is preparing to give the annual State of the Union address.

He's set to speak to Congress the day before his impeachment trial ends with a vote in the U.S. Senate.

Weinstein accuser testifying again after breaking down on the stand

A woman who accuses Harvey Weinstein of rape is facing a third day of
cross examination by the movie mogul's defense team.

2020 to be a "defining year of climate action" for the planet, says UK PM

A ban on selling new petrol, diesel or hybrid cars in the UK will be brought forward to the year 2035. The change comes after experts said 2040 would be too late if the UK wants to achieve its target of emitting virtually zero carbon by 2050.


Prime Minister Boris Johnson unveiled the policy as part of a launch event for a United Nations climate summit in November.

First case of coronavirus confirmed in Brussels

Belgium has reported its first confirmed case of coronavirus - one of nine Belgians repatriated from China over the weekend. 

All nine patients were placed into quarantine, with one testing positive for the virus.

Ebola Cases Drop in Eastern DR Congo, Says WHO

Only one case was confirmed over the last three days in the eastern territory of Beni. Authorities say the cases are the fewest since the outbreak began in 2018.

UK TERROR PLANS TO FACE LEGAL CHALLENGE

UK government plans to make terrorism offenders stay in prison for longer - are likely to face a legal challenge.

The proposed emergency legislation comes after an attack in London at the weekend by a man who'd just been released early from prison after being convicted of terrorism offences.

It would seek to end the automatic release of offenders at the halfway point of their sentences.

Thai rescue flight heads for Wuhan

China accuses U.S. of causing ‘panic’ over coronavirus

China has accused the United States of causing panic over its response
to the coronavirus outbreak.

Over 350 people have died from the virus and the U.S. is denying entry
