Police in Paris evacuate yet another migrant camp

Police in Paris have dismantled another migrant camp in the north of the city, where between one and two thousand people had been sleeping by the side of a major motorway.

It's the latest in a long line of evacuations in the Paris area over the last four years.

Zimbabweans Reject Anti-Corruption Lessons from Uganda

A decision to invite a Ugandan judge to lecture Zimbabwean judges on how to fight corruption has sparked online protests.

Zimbabweans argue they have nothing to learn from Uganda since its more corrupt.

A recent corruption index indicates Uganda was ranked 137 out of 180 countries while Zimbabwe is at number 158.

Armed Groups Kill 200 People in East DR Congo

INTRO:

A charity organisation that monitors armed conflict in the east of the Democratic Republic of Congo says nearly 200 people were killed in violence last month.

The Kivu Security Tracker says the killings were carried out by armed groups and Congolese security forces in the restive region.

The death toll is reported to be the highest since 2017.

CORONAVIRUS DEATH TOLL JUMPS OVER 100

The death toll from the coronavirus outbreak is now over 100.

China's confirmed there have now been over 4500 total cases - up from 2835 only a day before.

At least 16 countries globally have reported instances of the virus as China works to contain its spread.

GOP senators considering witnesses in impeachment trial after Bolton revelations

The President's defense team ended their second day of opening statements amidst revelations from manuscripts of a forthcoming book by former national security advisor John Bolton.

 

The New York Times who first broke the story on Sunday say in John Bolton details a conversation where the President said he wanted to withhold security aid to Ukraine until officials there began an investigation into the Democrats and the Bidens.

Trump to unveil Israeli Palestinian peace plan on Tuesday

President Trump says he will unveil his administration's plan for peace between Israelis and Palestinians on Tuesday afternoon.

He says the deal has the support of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who has been meeting Mr Trump at the white house.

Global markets slide on coronavirus fears

Global markets tumbled Monday amid fears over the spread of the
coronavirus that has now claimed the lives of at least 80 people.

FBI receives "zero co-operation" from Prince Andrew in Epstein investigation

US prosecutors in New York have revealed that the FBI wants to interview Prince Andrew over the nature of his friendship with sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein.

Weinstein accuser testifies in court

A woman who claims to have been sexually assaulted by Harvey Weinstein
is testifying in court on Monday.

Over 80 women accuse the media mogul of sexual misconduct but his rape

Irish PM says EU has upper hand in Brexit talks

The Irish Prime Minister has revealed that he believes the European Union will have the upper hand in the upcoming trade talks with the UK.


Leo Varadkar compared the two sides to sporting rivals, suggesting the EU has the "stronger team" due to its larger population and market.


He made the remarks before a meeting with the EU's chief negotiator, Michel Barnier, in Ireland's capital Dublin.

Rwanda Child Rights Abuse Report

A Human Rights Watch report released on Monday accuses Rwandan authorities of abusive arrests and detention of some of the country's most vulnerable children under the pretense of rehabilitating them.

The Human Rights investigators are also calling for the immediate closure of Gikondo Transit Center, where children are arbitrarily detained and abused.
