Irish PM says EU has upper hand in Brexit talks

The Irish Prime Minister has revealed that he believes the European Union will have the upper hand in the upcoming trade talks with the UK.

Leo Varadkar compared the two sides to sporting rivals, suggesting the EU has the "stronger team" due to its larger population and market.

He made the remarks before a meeting with the EU's chief negotiator, Michel Barnier, in Ireland's capital Dublin.
