Final days of UK general election campaign

UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson is embarking on a last-ditch blitz of pro-Brexit Labour-held constituencies in England, with only days to go before polling day on December 12th. 


Mr Johnson is claiming that opposition parties in Parliament have "delayed" and "denied" the country's departure from the European Union.

A major rescue operation is continuing in New Zealand's Bay of Plenty after a volcano erupted on White Island.

UK ELECTION CAMPAIGN INTO FINAL DAYS

Britain's political leaders are into their final days of campaigning ahead of Thursday's general election.

The governing Conservatives maintain a strong lead in most polls and are targeting seats previously held by Labour, but which voted for Brexit in 2016.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson says his party will 'Get Brexit Done' and and delays he says have been caused by Parliament.

Labour say they will hold a budget to 'end austerity' within 100 days if they form a government.

James Johnson was a strategy adviser to former Prime Minister Theresa May - he says Brexit has remained central throughout the campaign.

FLOODS KILL 16 in Western Uganda

Over 40 killed in Delhi fire

In India, over 40 people have died in a massive fire that broke out in a factory in New Delhi.

Police say an initial investigation has shown that a short circuit may have started the blaze. A probe has been ordered by the government with the Prime Minister calling the tragedy horrific.

Former British Prime Minister says people should vote AGAINST his own party

Former British Prime Minister Sir John Major is urging people to re-elect now independent MPs who were expelled from the Conservatives, rather than voting for the party he led for seven years.

Burundi Landslides Kill 26

US jobs data smashes expectations
