UK GDP Shrinks for the first time since 2012


The UK's economy has contracted for the first time since 2012.


If the economy shrinks in two consecutive quarters, it will be in recession.


But the UK's Chancellor has said he doesn't expect that to happen.

Bayer shares soar on report of $8bn settlement

Shares of German pharmaceutical company Bayer soared on Friday following a media report that the company has proposed to pay eight billion dollars to settle a series of lawsuits in the United States.

Several U.S. courts have ruled that that the company's glyphosate-based weedkiller product Roundup causes cancer.

5 days on, India eases restrictions in Kashmir

Five days after a complete information blackout was put in place in Indian administered Jammu and Kashmir, officials suggest that the restrictions have been eased to some extent.

Internet and phone lines have been shut in Kashmir prompting criticism of the government's move- however New Delhi says the measures are necessary for the security of the region's population after Parliament ratified the revocation of Kashmir's special status.

Radiation rises after engine explosion in northern Russia
