Spat Escalating Between China and UK over Hong Kong


A spat between the UK and China over Hong Kong is taking a serious turn.

Britain has summoned China's ambassador to the UK after Liu Xiaoming warned of damage to bilateral relations over comments about the unrest in the territory.

Alarm in France over lead pollution from Notre Dame

Levels of lead pollution 400 to 700 times higher than the limit considered safe in French law were measured around Notre Dame cathedral weeks after the fire, according to French media.

The government is coming under attack for failing to decontaminate the site properly, or warn locals sufficiently about the risk.

India economy expected to pick up this year, government says

India's economy is predicted to pick up to 7 per cent in the current financial year compared to 6.8 per cent the previous year, according to the government.

This comes ahead of India announcing its annual budget on Friday, which will be closely watched after the Narendra Modi led government was re-elected in May.

Russia confirms submarine involved in accident was nuclear-powered

Boeing sets $100mln fund for families of 737 Max Jet air crash victims

American aircraft manufacturer, Boeing is pledging $100 million dollars to help families and communities affected by the two deadly crashes involving its 737 MAX airliner.  

The money will go to nonprofits and groups that will distribute the funds to relatives of the 346 people who died in the crashes in Indonesia and Ethiopia.

AU condemns Libya attack on migrants

The African Union commission is calling for an independent
investigation into the bombing of a detention centre in Libya where
over 40 people are reported to have been killed.

Libya remains in internal conflict as the UN-backed Government of

RUSSIA OFFICIALLY SUSPENDS INF TREATY

UN: Libya migrant attack could be "war crime"

Rahul Gandhi, chief of India's oldest political party, resigns

The head of India's chief opposition party, Rahul Gandhi has resigned taking responsibility for the Congress' massive defeat in May's general elections.
