The head of India's chief opposition party, Rahul Gandhi has resigned taking responsibility for the Congress' massive defeat in May's general elections.
Mr. Gandhi was appointed head of the Congress party in 2017 and led the party's campaign in the 2019 general elections.
Rahul Gandhi belongs to the Nehru Gandhi family and is related to three former Indian Prime Ministers.
