City of Paris sues Airbnb

The city of Paris is suing Airbnb for more than 14 million dollars.

Authorities claim 1,000 rental listings on the website are breaking a French law passed last year.

The 'City of Love' is one of the platforms most important destinations.

Twitter misses Indian Parliament summons, asks for more time

Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey will not appear before an Indian Parliamentary panel this week. 

The social media platform claims it wasn't given enough notice and hence its representatives were unable to travel to India for the February 11 hearing.

North Korean state media report Pyongyang is requesting 'corresponding practical action' from Washington.


Seeking sanctions relief, North Korea claims to have destroyed nuclear and missile testing sites last year.


But Washington says it wants more proof Pyongyang is truly willing to give up its nuclear weapons.


North Korea and the U.S. wrapped up talks last Friday ahead of this month's summit between Trump and Kim.


Both sides have been unclear about what they're willing to offer at the second leaders summit.


But it appears they have more work to do to avoid another meeting that yields little more than smiling leaders.

Venezuelan Doctors Protest Aid Blockade

 Venezuelan doctors have been protesting at a bridge which has been blocked to prevent humanitarian aid from entering the country. 

The doctors called on the Venezuelan military to remove a tanker and cargo containings blocking the Tienditas International Bridge.  

They protested on the Colombian side of the border to avoid repercussions at a time of huge political tension.

Opposition leader Juan Guaidó who has proclaimed himself interim President and that the Nicholas Maduro's presidency is illegitimate. 

The United States has imposed harsh sanctions on the country's oil exports.

Jens Laerke, a spokesman for the U.N. Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs is committed to delivering aid.

Netflix Film Picks Up Top Prizes at BAFTA Awards

The film "Roma" has won the best film and best director prizes at the UK's BAFTA Awards.

The black and white production from Netflix is presented from the perspective of an indigenous domestic worker in Mexico during the 1970s.

The film also picked up the cinematography award and the prize for best film not in the English language.

Speaking at the BAFTA ceremony, Director Alfonso Cuaron said the film carries an important political message.

Talks between Republicans and Democrats aimed at preventing another U.S. government shutdown have ground to a halt.

The two sides have until Friday to reach a deal over President Trump's demand for border wall funding.

US Intel Leak Adds Pressure over Saudi Murder of Khashoggi

Russia reinstated to Paralympics after doping ban

The International Paralympic Committee has reinstated Russia after a 29-month ban over doping.


The decision means Russian athletes can compete at the next Paralympic Games in Tokyo under their own flag, but it is conditional on Russia meeting certain requirements, including a robust testing programme.

US calls on Russia to allow access to jailed ex-Marine
