Trump backs down on border wall funding, likely avoiding gov’t shutdown
President Trump is backing down from his pledge that he would shut down the federal government if Congress didn't approve five billion dollars to fund a wall on the U.S.-Mexico border.
Trump's concession is seen as a major win for Democrats in Congress, as they prepare to take control of the House of Representatives in January.

British PM: Second Brexit Referendum Would Damage Integrity of Politics
British Prime Minster Theresa May is warning that a second referendum on Britain's EU membership would cause irreparable damage to the integrity of the country's politics.
It comes as Mrs May is trying to gather support for a draft Brexit deal, which needs the approval of parliament before it can go ahead.
If it isn't approved, the country could crash out of the EU with a no deal, leading many to question whether there should be a second referendum
