Voting machine problems plague midterm elections in US

A series of problems have been reported with voting machines across the United States, as Americans turn out in record numbers for the country's mid-term elections.


In New York, Georgia, Texas, South Carolina and several other states voters abandoned attempts to participate in the election.

Facebook agrees platform used to incite violence in Myanmar

Facebook has admitted that the social network failed to prevent the use of its platform to incite violence in Myanmar.

Record turnout seems likely in US mid-term elections

Over 200 mass graves found in Iraq

Over 200 mass graves have been discovered in parts of Iraq that were

N. Korea unveils likely first official portrait of Kim Jong-un


North Korea has unveiled what's believed to be its first official portrait of Kim Jong-un. The move may indicate Kim has taken the next step in developing his cult of personality in the isolated country.

The massive painting revealed on North Korean state television shows leader Kim Jong-un wearing a western-style suit and tie.

He's smiling broadly.

The unveiling came during Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel's state visit to Pyongyang this week.

Kim's father and grandfather's portraits hang in every North Korean home as well as in public spaces.

The portraits are a central element in North Korea's domestic propaganda. And it appears Kim is now following in the family footsteps.

Protests break out at Hindu temple in Kerala

Clashes have broken out at a famous Hindu temple in Kerala, south India, as protestors continue to challenge women trying to enter the temple.
