Florence makes landfall on North Carolina coast


Hurricane Florence has reached land, slamming into the North Carolina coast with ninety mile per hour winds.

More than four hundred thousand people have already lost power and rescues are underway of people stranded by the storm.

Orban Says His Government Will Respond to European Parliament Vote

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban says his government will soon decide how it will legally fight a landmark European Parliament vote.

Hurricane Florence Approaches US Coast

Hurricane Florence is approaching the neighboring U.S. coastal states of North and South Carolina and parts of Georgia. 

It's been downgraded to a category 2 storm, but experts caution that it remains life-threatening.

UK: RUSSIA IS 'LYING' OVER SALISBURY SUSPECTS

US braces for Hurricane Florence

The US East Coast is preparing for disaster as Hurricane Florence approaches.

Despite being downgraded to a category 2 storm, Florence is still expected to bring catastrophic flooding.

The states of Georgia, North and South Carolina, Virginia, Maryland, and Washington DC have all declared a state of emergency.

South, North Korea hold military talks ahead of inter-Korean summit

North and South Korean military leaders met at the border today to find ways to prevent armed conflict from returning if peace talks hit a snag. The meeting comes days before the leaders of the two countries hold their third summit this year.

The North and South Korean military delegations met on the North Korean side of the demilitarized zone.


They agreed to create a special zone in waters west of the Korean Peninsula where there have been fatal military clashes within the past ten years.


Warships will not be able to enter the zone. And live-fire exercises would be banned there.


They also discussed drawing down patrol posts along the DMZ and excavating war dead from that buffer zone.


The talks to limit military threats from returning come ahead of South Korean President Moon Jae-in's summit next week in Pyongyang with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.

Salisbury nerve agent suspects 'just wanted to see city's famous cathedral'

The men accused of carrying out a nerve agent attack on British soil have told a Russian TV station that they were tourists who just wanted to see Salisbury cathedral. UK Prime Minister Theresa May's hosting a special cabinet meeting to discuss plans for a 'no deal' Brexit scenario.

Hurricane Florence could still spell 'disaster' despite being downgraded to a category two storm, according to US officials.

Its winds have weakened to around 175 km an hour, but the slow speed at which it's moving is raising fears of major flooding.

Florence may now make landfall further south than expected - the states of North and South Carolina, Virginia, Maryland, Washington DC and Georgia have all declared emergencies.
