Two Russian Novichok suspects named
British police have named two suspects they believe responsible for the poisoning of the former Russian spy Sergei Skripal and his daughter Yulia in Salisbury earlier this year.
Prosecutors says there is sufficient evidence to charge Alexander Petrov and Ruslan Boshirov, Russian citizens believed to be around 40, with charges that include conspiracy to murder and use of a chemical weapon.
Police say the two men arrived in London just two days before the poisoning and left on the same day. They are believed to have made two trips to Salisbury and on the second applied the military grade chemical weapon Novichok to the door handle of Sergei Skripal's house.
He and his daughter were found unconscious on Sunday 4th March but have since made a recovery.
Two British citizens subsequently found a discarded perfume bottle that contained the same strain of Novichok. Both were taken ill, 44 year old Dawn Sturgess died after applying the poison to her wrists.
Prosecutors says it is not seeking the extradition of the two men, in recognition of Russia's policy of not extraditing it's citizens to the UK.
Scotland Yard's Assistant Commissioner Neil Basu, the head of UK counter-terrorism policing says officers need the public's help to find out more about the suspects.
