No resolution in Germany migrant dispute

Germany's ruling coalition remains embroiled in a dispute over migration which threatens to bring down the government.

The party which control's the southern state of Bavaria is threatening to close its borders in a direct challenge to chancellor Angela Merkel.

MAJOR INCIDENT OVER FIRE IN MANCHESTER

A major incident's been declared in Greater Manchester in the UK, with a huge moorland fire continuing to spread.

More than 30 homes have been evacuated and the army's on standby to help if required.

The blaze measures approximately 6km across dry hills on Saddleworth Moor and smoke and fire can be seen for miles around.

Maradona 'fine' after 'blood pressure scare', but accused of becoming 'laughing stock'

India-US hold trade talks over retaliatory tariffs

American and Indian officials are meeting in New Delhi to discuss outstanding bilateral issues between the two countries.

The meeting comes days after New Delhi announced that it is implementing higher tariffs on 29 US items in retaliation to America hiking tariffs on steel and aluminium imports from India.

Judge orders Trump administration to reunite migrant families

A federal judge has ordered the Trump administration to reunite migrant parents with children separated under a "zero tolerance" policy on immigration.

San Diego based Judge Dana Sabraw issued a preliminary injuction on Tuesday night also requiring the US government to halt almost all family separations at the US border.

Uber gets London licence back but under probation

The ride-hailing app Uber has won back it's licence to operate in the British capital after a judge overturned a ban issued last September by London's transport authority.

Trump threatens Harley Davidson

US President Donald Trump has threatened Harley Davidson that if it moves operations overseas, it will be taxed "like never before."

The message came in a Tweet, a day after the motorcycle manufacturer announced it will move some of its production overseas due to high costs that have resulted from the trade war started by Trump.

U.S. Supreme Court upholds Trump’s travel ban

The U.S. Supreme Court has ruled in favor of President Donald Trump's
so-called travel ban ending months of legal disputes.

South Sudan Peace Talks Underway in Sudan Capital Khartoum

Uganda's President Yoweri Museveni is brokering talks between South Sudan President Salva Kiir and and his former deputy Riek Machar in Sudan in Khartoum. 

 

The Eastern Africa regional bloc The Inter-Government Authority on Development, or IGAD asked Sudan to host a new round of talks to end the nearly two years of political crisis since Dr Riek Machar fled the country following fighting.

The Indian Environment Ministry plans to set up a system that will issue early warnings for air pollution.

Every winter, the city of New Delhi sees a drastic spike in air pollution levels. Currently the government's air quality forecast system records pollution levels in four Indian cities but is unable to issue warnings well ahead of time.
