TRUMP TO VISIT UK IN JULY

US President Donald Trump will visit the UK on 13th July, the White House has confirmed.

It's described as a 'working visit' - not the full state visit UK Prime Minister Theresa May invited President Trump on last year.

Nearly two million people signed a petition in the UK to prevent Donald Trump being afforded a state visit.

The trip in July will therefore contain less pomp and ceremony than a state occasion would entail.

UK correspondent Olly Barratt says it will be controversial nonetheless.

UK HOME OFFICE 'DID HAVE VOLUNTARY DEPARTURE TARGETS'

It's emerged the UK's Home Office did set targets for voluntary departures from Britain of people thought to have no right to stay in the country.

This after Home Secretary Amber Rudd denied knowing of such targets during questioning by MPs on Wednesday.

It follows an ongoing scandal in the UK over the Windrush generation - which saw some relatives of migrants from the Caribbean who'd settled in Britain between the 1940s and 70s threatened with deportation.
