North Korea's Supreme Leader Kim Jong-un has crossed into the neighboring south for an historic summit with his South Korean counterpart, Moon Jae-in.
The two men greeted each other with a handshake on the border line between the two nations before both crossing into the South - a first for the North Korean leader.
The two are expected to discuss ending North Korea's nuclear program.
As the pair spoke, The White House has issued a statement saying it's hopeful the talks will be a step towards peace and prosperity for the entire Korean Peninsula.
The summit is being viewed as a foundation for a possible meeting between Kim Jong-un and President Trump in the coming weeks
