Facebook: Data Collection Affected More Users


Facebook has updated the number of users whose data may have been improperly obtained and used by Cambridge Analytica. 
The social media company says nearly twice as many users were affected as previously thought.

UN urges help for besieged Syrians

The United Nations is asking the Syria government to allow access to
the town of Douma where up to 150,000 people are living under siege
conditions.

The UN's humanitarian adviser for the country said the residents were
"on their knees".

The White House says there will be no US withdrawal from Syria, despite President Trump's desire to pull American troops out of the country.

Stocks Fall as China Retaliates Against Trump Tariff Move

Boris under fire for remarks about origin of nerve agent in spy poisoning case

British Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson has been accused of misleading the public after wrongly claiming in a television interview that experts from the military facility at Porton Down had identified the source of the nerve agent that poisoned a former Russia spy and his daughter as coming from Russia. 


The row comes after the head of Porton Down said in an interview that the laboratory could not definitively say that the nerve agent had come from Russia, prompting Moscow to call an emergency meeting of the world's chemical weapons watchdog, the OPCW.   From London, Catherine Drew reports.

US threatens AGOA suspension on Rwanda


Rwanda has not opposed a decision by the United States to suspend duty-free status for Rwandan apparel products under the African Growth and Opportunity Act.

UK says Russia involvement would compromise chemical weapons body

Bodies of Ugandan Soldiers Killed in Somalia Returned Home

Chemical Weapons Watchdog to Meet at Russia's Request

India's cricket body auctions multi-million dollar media rights

The Board of Control for Cricket in India or the BCCI is auctioning the media rights for Indian cricket. The bid process started on Tuesday and is expected to wind up by the end of Wednesday.

US plans 25% tariffs on 1,300 Chinese imports

More than a thousand Chinese products are the subject of a new round of proposed US tariffs.  

The 25% tax would affect 13-hundred products worth about 50-billion-dollars. 

It's an effort to correct the country's ballooning trade deficit with China and a response to Beijing's imposition of duties on about 3 billion dollars worth of US exports.

A review process is underway till May before the list can take effect.

4 wounded after woman opens fire at YouTube HQ in California

Police say a woman who opened fire at the headquarters of YouTube just outside San Francisco, killed herself at the scene of the attack.


4 people were wounded.


The motive for the shooting is unclear, as our US correspondent Simon Marks reports.
