Republicans warn President Trump not to fire special counsel

The White House says President Trump is not considering firing the Special Counsel investigating in the 2016 US election.

The announcement comes after Mr Trump attacked Special Counsel Robert Mueller's inquiry and his private lawyer suggested it was time to end the investigation.

WTO meet kicks off in New Delhi

Representatives from 50 nations are in New Delhi for an informal meeting of the World Trade Organisation.

WTO Director General Roberto Azevedo has said that the Delhi meeting comes at a time when the global trade environment is very risky.

Brexit transition meetings continue

Brexit negotiations are resuming in Brussels with the UK keen to secure the promise of a 21 month transitional period from the European Union.

UN Backs Free and Fair Elections in Zimbabwe

President Emmerson Mnangagwa took over as Zimbabwe president in November last year after the military ousted the 37 year rule of Robert Mugabe.

UK FM Trying to Get EU Backing to Condemn Russia

UK Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson is in Brussels, hoping to secure support to sharply condemn Russia for the poisoning of a former spy and his daughter.

OPCW TEAM VISITS UK TO TEST NERVE AGENT

International weapons experts are visiting Britain to test the substance used to attack a former spy and his daughter in Salisbury.

The  Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons team have been invited to the UK to independently verify the nerve agent used in the March 4th attack.

Britain has expelled 23 Russian diplomats over the incident - with Russia responding by sending the same number of British staff back to the UK.

Russian President Vladimir Putin, after winning his country's election, described claims of Russian involvement in the nerve agent attack as 'nonsense'.

Vladimir Putin wins fourth term

Vladimir Putin has won another six year term as President of Russia.

Putin won what his government is calling a landslide re-election victory on Sunday.

This will be Putin's fourth term, second only to Josef Stalin.

A nationalist, Communist and two liberals were also on the ballot. Putin reportedly won 74 percent of the vote.

Republican lawmakers are warning President Trump not to interfere with the probe into Russian meddling in the 2016 US presidential election.

It follows a series of tweets from Donald Trump attacking the investigation led by Special Counsel Robert Mueller.

The White House is already under fire over the dismissal of deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe just days before he was due to retire.

UN launches US$950M aid appeal for Rohingya refugee assistance

The United Nations is seeking more than $950 million dollars this year to urgently help Rohingya refugees who have fled Myanmar, and the communities hosting them.


The 2018 response plan for the Rohingya Humanitarian Crisis was launched in Geneva Friday, and includes provisions for food, water and healthcare.
