Thousands of students walk out of classes to call for gun control

Thousands of students across the U.S. walked out of their classes on Thursday, calling for stricter gun control.

The protest was sparked by the recent school shooting in Florida that left 17 people dead.

India, Pakistan trade charges over alleged harassment of diplomats

Pakistan has accused Indian authorities of harassing its diplomats and their family members posted in New Delhi.

India has countered that charge by saying that Indian diplomats posted in Pakistan are being subjected to similar harassment.

A deadline has passed for Russia to explain the use of a nerve agent in the UK in an attack on a former spy.

UK Prime Minister Theresa May is now expected to set out a range of measures directed at Russia.

The UK says it is 'highly likely' Moscow was behind the incident in Salisbury which left Sergei Skripal and his daughter in a critical condition.

Russia denies any involvement.

Physicist Stephen Hawking has died at the age of 76.

He became world renowned for his work around black holes and relativity.

He was given only a few years to live when diagnosed in the 1960s with a rare form of motor neurone disease.

Stephen Hawking wrote a number of science books, including A Brief History of Time which sold millions of copied worldwide.

His life was turned into the film The Theory of Everything, in which he was played by Eddie Redmayne.

Stephen Hawking dies at 76

British physicist Stephen Hawking has died at the age of 76.

In his early twenties he was given only a few years to live after being diagnosed with a rare form of motor neurone disease.

His book, A Brief History of Time, has sold more than 10 million copies and his life story was the subject of the 2014 film The Theory of Everything.

He spoke at the opening of the 2012 Paralympic Games in London.
