SAP appoints new African director after admitting 'misconduct' in South Africa

German software company SAP [PRONOUNCED BY SPELLING OUT THE LETTERS] announced it has hired new managing director for Africa, as it faces continued questions about its past dealings with companies linked to the Gupta family.


Last week the company admitted that it had paid over one hundred million Rand to intermediaries in order to win lucrative contracts with state owned enterprises.

Scandal surrounding EU Commission secretary general rages on

KEN DODD DIES AT 90

British comedian Sir Ken Dodd has died at the age of 90.

He'd recently spent six weeks in hospital with a chest infection.

Sir Ken had been a comedian since the 1950s, and was well known for his long stand-up shows which sometimes lasted for hours.

In addition to his comic career on stage and screen, he also released some of the best-selling songs of the 1960s.

He received a knighthood at Buckingham Palace in 2017.

UK CLOSE TO ACCUSING RUSSIA OVER NERVE ATTACK

It's reported the UK government may be close to publicly accusing Russia of being behind a nerve agent attack on a former spy.

A statement from Prime Minister Theresa May, outlining some responses from the UK, could come within the next 48 hours.

Russia has denied any involvement in the attack on Sergei Skripal and his daughter in Salisbury on 4th March which has left them both in a critical condition.

9 trekkers killed in forest fire in Southern India

Nine people were killed and 21 others rescued after a sudden forest fire was reported in the southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu.

36 trekkers- including three children- were on a trekking expedition when the fire started.

At least two dead in NYC helicopter crash

At least two people have died after helicopter went down in the East River of New York City.

Three passengers are in a critical condition in hospital after being pulled out of the water by rescue divers on Sunday night.

The New York City fire department said the pilot managed to free himself but commissioner Daniel Nigro said it was much harder to get the 5 passengers out.

India-France sign bilateral agreements worth $16 billion

French President Emmanuel Macron is on a four-day official visit to India- his first since assuming power.

He's held bilateral talks with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the two nations have agreed to enhance cooperation in the fields of nuclear energy, trade, space, education and sustainable development.

The biggest takeaway from the visit has been movement in the Jaitapur nuclear plant deal that has been languishing for nearly a decade now.

Row over Frida Kahlo Barbie doll

There's a dispute over the launch of a Barbie doll based on the image
of Mexican artist, Frida Kahlo.

It comes after the makers, Mattel, launched a new line of dolls on the

FL Governor signs gun control bill into law

A sweeping gun control bill has been signed into law by Florida Governor Rick Scott.
