EU announces plan to increase in size

The European Union is releasing a strategy that could allow Montenegro and Serbia to join the EU by 2025. 


The idea of former Yugoslavian countries joining the EU and NATO has always caused tension between Europe and Russia as they were once part of the Soviet Union.

UK judge rules Julian Assange arrest warrant still stands

A British court has ruled against WikiLeaks founder Jullian Assange who had argued a UK arrest warrant for him should be withdrawn because Swedish prosecutors have dropped their investigation over sexual assault and rape claims against him.

Julian Assange has been hiding out in the Ecuadorian embassy in London since 2012, after he skipped bail.

Suspected terrorist says he won't attend Brussels trial anymore

The Paris attacks suspect Salah Abdeslam who's currently on trial in Belgium is refusing to attend court when his case resumes on Thursday.

He's facing charges of attempted murder in a terrorist context relating to a shootout in Brussels days before his capture.

South African President Jacob Zuma "close to resigning"

Speculation is mounting that South African President Jacob Zuma is close to tendering his resignation, after he postponed plans to address Parliament in Cape Town on Thursday.


President Zuma was due to make the annual State of the Nation address….it's the first time it's been postponed since the advent of democracy in South Africa.


Prince Mashele of the Center for Politics and Research in Johannesburg told South Africa's E News Channel that years of corruption and kleptocracy are catching up with the country's President.

Trump's lawyers don't want him to speak to special counsel

European markets head for day of falls after US, Asia

Macron heads to Corsica amid separatist row


French President Emmanuel Macron has arrived in Corsica on Tuesday, for what could be one of the trickiest visits of his presidency.


In recent regional elections, the island voted overwhelmingly for separatist parties who want much greater autonomy from Paris.

Indian stock markets plunge, sharpest decline in three years

Indian Prime Minister to visit Palestine

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be travelling to Palestine later this week- barely two weeks after he played host to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

This will be the first visit by an Indian Prime Minister to Ramallah and comes weeks after India vetoed a US proposal to recognise Jerusalem as Israel's capital at the United Nations.

Wall St plunges over rate rise fears

Wall Street has had one of its worst days on record, with the Dow
Jones closing almost 1200 points lower, the fastest one-day plunge in
almost ten years.

US markets continued the downward decline that started on Friday,
following strong jobs and wage data, which raised fears of extra

South Sudanese Leaders Begin Fresh Peace Talks

Warring parties in South Sudan's civil conflict are beginning peace talks in the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa.

It comes as the United Nations is warning of a worsening humanitarian crisis in which one in three South Sudanese have fled their homes. 

The United States last week announced an arms embargo on South Sudan, though most weapons are sourced from other countries.

Moscow calls for killed pilot to become 'Hero of Russia'

The Russian Defence Ministry says the airforce pilot who was shot down in Syria should be given an award that makes him a 'Hero of Russia'. The SU-25 plane came down in northern Idlib province, which has seen heavy air strikes and fighting between Syria's government forces backed by Russia and rebel groups opposed to President Bashar al-Assad. Pres. Trump lacks authority to target DPRK - Democrats

DISRUPTION AFTER RECORD MOSCOW SNOWFALL

Snow continues to come down in Moscow, after it received its heaviest daily snowfall since records began at the weekend.

More than 2000 trees were brought down in the Russian capital and one person has died.
