The Russian Defence Ministry says the airforce pilot who was shot down in Syria should be given an award that makes him a 'Hero of Russia'. The SU-25 plane came down in northern Idlib province, which has seen heavy air strikes and fighting between Syria's government forces backed by Russia and rebel groups opposed to President Bashar al-Assad.
