US calls for Rohingya investigation

U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson is calling for an independent investigation into why so many Rohingya Muslims were forced to leave their homes in Mynamar.

Following U.S. President Donald Trump's trip to Asia, America's top diplomat continued his journey to see the situation for himself.

EU rejects UN claim its Libya migrant policy is "inhuman"

The European Union is rejecting the UN's claim that its policy of supporting Libyan authorities deal with migrants is "inhuman".

Delhi to adopt tougher emission standards to cope with air pollution

The Indian government has advanced the deadline for New Delhi to adopt the world's toughest vehicle emission standards- Euro VI by two years. 

This is an attempt to mitigate air pollution in one of the most polluted cities in the world.

For over a week now, Delhi has seen hazardous levels of toxic air pollution- prompting many citizens to say they are leaving the city.

Australia votes yes for same sex marriage - reactions/comments

Gay Australians could be married before Christmas after the country overwhelmingly endorsed same-sex marriage and brought a community "in from the cold".
It's up to MPs now to legislate on same-sex marriage in the two weeks of parliament left for the year but they've been warned to get it done without playing politics.
A majority 'yes' vote was recorded in 133 of 150 federal electorates across the country.

Zimbabwe's military says it is not launching a coup, but has taken over national broadcaster ZBC to 'target criminals'.

Major General Sibusiso Mayo read out a statement on ZBC insisting President Mugabe and his family are safe.

Gunfire has been heard in some parts of the capital Harare.

The military intervention comes after President Mugabe fired his vice president - a move seen as opening the path for his wife Grace to succeed him as Zimbabwe's leader.

Head of Zimbabwean army denies coup reports but confirms military action

The commander in chief of armed forces in Zimbabwe is denying that he's launched a coup against 93 year-old President Robert Mugabe.


But he says he's acted to defend the country's revolution against forces within Mr. Mugabe's governing ZANU-PF party that have been purging their political opponents.


General Constantino Chiwenga spoke on Zimbabwean national radio after explosions were heard in the capital Harare, and the President's residence was surrounded by troops.

Roy Moore not fit for US Senate - McConnell

U.S. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell wants Roy Moore to end his candidacy to be the next U.S. Senate from Alabama, with a special election set for December 12.

Roy Moore has posted on social media his supporters will not be fooled, and Mitch McConnell's days as majority leader are numbered.

Recent polls find Moore's large lead in the Alabama vote has evaporated and following multiple allegations of sexual misconduct, he's now tied with his Democratic rival.
