Dossier is 'fake news' - Pres. Trump

U.S. President Donald Trump says he's the victim of a witch hunt, emphasizing the Washington Post reporting that Hillary Clinton's campaign and the Democrats funded much of the investigation done by Christopher Steele.

His dossier describes links between then businessman Donald Trump and Russia and the FBI has confirmed parts of it, but not the most salacious sections.

In an interview to be aired on the Fox Business Channel, U.S. President Donald Trump again rejected that the Steele dossier has anything to do with him.

Pres. Trump denies rifts in Republican party

U.S. President Donald Trump denies there are any divisions in the Republican party, after Senator Jeff Flake continued his criticism following his announcement he will not seek re-election in 2018.

Republican Congressional leaders publicly say they want to focus on their political agenda and specifically on tax reform, but behind closed doors have told reporters they agree with Senators Corker and Flake that the president is causing more problems than solving.

U.S. President Donald Trump did not specifically order the Niger operation during which 4 U.S. soldiers died.

An investigation is underway into why the American and Nigerien forces stumbled into an apparent ambush, and why it took so long for French jets and helicopters to make it to the scene.

The Washington Post also reports, a team of commandos were deployed to find Sergeant La David Johson.

White House calls reports that Clinton campaign funded Trump dossier "the real Russia scandal"


White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders has hit out at Democrats after a Washington Post report that the Clinton campaign paid for political research that led to the Trump dossier.

The file...compiled by former British intelligence officer Christopher Steele...contained explosive, so far unproven allegations about Donald Trump's links to Russia.

US Secretary of State Tillerson promises to aid India's growth in South Asia

Rex Tillerson met his Indian counterpart in New Delhi to discuss security and defence cooperation.

While Secretary Tillerson focused quite heavily on India being key to ensuring stability in Afghanistan, the bigger message was India's potential role in the Indo-Pacific region- a clear warning to China.

Senators petty, president will keep fighting - White House

The White House is characterizing the words of Senators Jeff Flake and Bob Corker as petty, as both lawmakers denounce the behavior of U.S. President Donald Trump.

President Trump has belittled Senator Corker's height and his competence, while Senator Flake expressed his fears for democracy on the floor of the U.S. Senate.

Senator Flake has been praised as a man of honor and principle, but not by White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders.

Pres. Trump harming US relations - Senator Corker

U.S. President is harming America's relations around the world by his posting on social media and by his lying.

U.S. Senator Bob Corker made the comments originally in an interview with CNN, and further repeated his comments to a scrum of reporters in the office buildings.

Russia vetoes UN proposal to extend chemical weapon investigations

Russia has vetoed a UN resolution proposing to continue investigating
chemical weapon attacks in Syria.

The UN Security Council failed to pass the US resolution that would
have seen the Joint Investigative Mechanism continue for another 12
months.

Western countries accused Russia of trying to "shoot the messenger" as
an upcoming report is expected to show the Russian-backed Syrian
government was behind recent attacks.

Congressional Committee to investigate 2010 uranium deal

The House Intelligence Committee is opening an investigation into a 2010 deal, during which a Russian company bought aan interest in a Canadian mining company which controls 20 percent  of the American uranium supply.

FBI documents about a spy ring which was unmasked and the members deported also documented how Russian officials issued bribes during the whist trying to purchase the Canadian mining firm Uranium One.

And because the U.S. State Department had to sign off on the deal, it's become one of U.S. President Donald Trump's favorite themes for tweet storms, as he repeatedly insisted Hillary Clinton is the one who actually colluded with the Russians.

US withdraws military assistance from Myanmar; mulls sanctions

The US is withdrawing military assistance units from Myanmar over the country's treatment of its Rohingya Muslim minority in Rakhine state.

The Trump administration has also threatened to impose sanctions on Myanmar unless it ends what the United Nations has called "a textbook example of ethnic cleansing."
