Germany, Egypt sign agreement on illegal migration

Germany and Egypt signed a memorandum of understanding to try and curb illegal migration to Europe.

Germany's foreign minister also pledged to offer Egypt support in a dispute with other African countries over a proposed Nile river dam.

Ahead of godman's sentencing, three Indian states on lockdown

Self-styled godman Ram Rahim will be sentenced after his conviction for raping two women last week. 

Security in the town of Rohtak- where he is lodged in jail- has been stepped up. Shoot at sight orders have been issued as well. 

On Friday, his supporters went on a riot to protest his conviction. 38 people lost their lives in the violence.

U.S. Navy recovers bodies of all 10 sailors missing in warship collision


The U.S. navy says the remains of all 10 missing sailors from the USS John S Mccain have now been recovered.

The missile destroyer collided with a 30'000 ton oil tanker in waters off Singapore last week.

'The President speaks for himself' that from Trump's Secretary of State during a fox news interview.

Rex Tillerson was asked about the President's reaction to the recent far-right rally in Charlottesville, Virginia which turned violent and claimed the life of a counter-protester.

The Secretary was responding to the U.N. Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination which has condemned Trump's response to the white nationalist event.

In the wake the unrest Trump said 'both sides' were to blame for the violence.

Texas Governor tells people to stay in place, praises Trump's response to storm Harvey

Texas is bracing for even more unprecedented rainfall with some 50 inches expected to fall in the Houston area over the coming week.

Hundreds of thousands of people are without electricity, and 3000 national guard have been deployed to assist with the rescue and recovery efforts.

The damage to infrastructure could run in to the billions. FEMA, the Federal Emergencey Management Agency predicting the recovery from the epic storm could take years.

Donald Trump is scheduled to visit the storm zone on Tuesday.

Houston Mayor defends not evacuating area devastated by storm Harvey

Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner has been defending the decision not to evacuate the city's residents ahead of Tropical Storm Harvey.

America's fourth largest city had been deluged with 30 inches of rain and a further 50 expected over the coming days.

Mayor Turner repeated on Sunday that those stranded by the severe rain and flooding should remain in their homes and await assistance.

Turner cited what he called the "crazy" logistics of trying to plan an evacuation of 2.3 million people over 48 hours.

Harvey intensifies as Trump warns of days of dangerous disruption

President Trump is urging people in the path of Hurricane Harvey to heed evacuation orders, and to make preparations for the storm.


The hurricane is due to last the Texas coast over the next few hours, and could bring severe flooding to the southern portion of the state,

Chinese National Arrested in CA On Hacking Charge

U.S. authorities on Thursday accused a Chinese national of providing a
hacking tool that was used to breach major corporations and has been
linked to the theft of security clearance records of millions of
American government employees. The man's lawyer said he was only in

UN calls for investigation into Yemen hotel air strike

The United Nations human rights office has called for an independent
investigation to look into an air strike that killed over 30 people in
Yemen.

Medics and aid groups on the ground in the capital Sanaa say the

UK to test drive driverless lorries

A trial of driverless lorries is set to take place on British roads by the end of 2018 according to the UK Government.


The lorries will travel in formation with the vehicle in front controlling acceleration and breaking.

Indian godman convicted of rape, supporters go on a rampage

A self-styled god man in India has been found guilty of raping two women 15 years ago. Hundreds of thousands of his followers who were camped outside the court awaiting the verdict have since gone on a rampage.

Officials have confirmed that 17 people have died.
