Texas Governor tells people to stay in place, praises Trump's response to storm Harvey

Texas is bracing for even more unprecedented rainfall with some 50 inches expected to fall in the Houston area over the coming week.

Hundreds of thousands of people are without electricity, and 3000 national guard have been deployed to assist with the rescue and recovery efforts.

The damage to infrastructure could run in to the billions. FEMA, the Federal Emergencey Management Agency predicting the recovery from the epic storm could take years.

Donald Trump is scheduled to visit the storm zone on Tuesday.

The US Coast Guard operating in the affected areas said 20 helicopters have been deployed, with hundreds of people rescued.
