Another 38 suspected mass graves found in DRC - UN

The United Nations says it has found another 38 suspected mass graves in the Democratic Republic of Congo's troubled Kasai region.


The discovery brings the total number of mass graves found in the province to at least 80, since clashes erupted there last year.

Future interest rate hikes possible - Fed. Chair Yellen

The Chair of the U.S. Federal Reserve told U.S. House of Representatives Financial Services Committee America's central bankers are considering additional interest rate hikes.

The Federal Open Market Committee has been slowly raising key interest rates as they feel the U.S. economy is recovering, but not growing too quickly.

The Federal Funds rate is what many other interest rates are based on, and raising this rate generally raises the cost of borrowing money in the U.S.

Fed Chief Janet Yellen says another rate hike is possible.

Brazil's Senate Approves Labor Reform Bill


Brazil's Senate has approved a major overhaul of labor laws, the largest one the South American country has seen in 70 years. 

The bill's approval represents a major victory for beleagured Brazilian President Michel Temer, who is trying to bring the country out a major economic recession.

Mosul fighting continues following 'victory'

Iraqi forces are continuing to fight Islamic State militants in Mosul,
a day after the country's prime minister declared victory in the city.

The Iraqi military, backed by a US-led coalition, started a campaign
to retake the city nine months ago.

Fall armyworms attack Ethiopia

Intro 

Ethiopia is concerned about the fall army worms attacking its Southern Region.

 This new pest that feeds on maize while it is in the field is believed to have originated from the Americas and entered Africa in 2016. 

Since February maize farms in over 140 district in the country have been attacked by the worm.

US extends review time on Sudan sanctions

The United States has extended by three months the review period for the revocation of sanctions on Sudan.
In January 2017 the US lifted its 20-year economic embargo on Sudan.

Turkey says ending EU membership talks would be 'comforting'

Kaspersky Lab claims it has been drawn into US-Russia geopolitical game
