UK think tank accuses Saudi Arabia of funding extremism

A report from a British think tank claims that Saudi Arabia is the chief foreign supporter of Islamist extremism in the UK. 

The Henry Jackson Society claims there is a "clear and growing link" between foreign funding and the advance of Islamist extremism in Britain and other Western countries.   From London, Catherine Drew reports.

EU puts up additional $40m to tackle migration crisis in Italy

German police clash with protestors ahead of G20

Riot police in the German city of Hamburg used water cannons to clear protestors off the streets, as tensions flared ahead of the G20 summit.

Around eight thousand protestors are expected to try and disrupt the 2-day meeting of world leaders which begins on Friday.

Russia says may deploy military to Syrian de-escalation zones

Failed Talks: Northern Ireland Power Sharing Deal

Northern Ireland has failed to agree a power-sharing deal, with another deadline missed.


An agreement had been expected last Thursday, which was then extended to Tuesday. But it's likely that talks could continue for months.

Grenfell Tower residents want inquiry judge to step aside

PM Modi heads to Israel for maiden visit by Indian Premier

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be personally welcomed by his Israeli counterpart Benjamin Netanyahu when he lands in Tel Aviv today. This is the first time that an Indian Prime Minister has made a bilateral visit to Israel. 

PM Netanyahu himself has called Narendra Modi's visit a 'historic' one. 

PM Modi's visit to Israel does not include a stopover at the Palestinian Authority's headquarters in Ramallah. Many former diplomats have called this a pivotal change in India's position on the Israel-Palestine conflict.
