Turkey threatens to strip citizenship from 130 people

Turkey says it will strip citizenship from 130 people suspected of militant links - unless they return to the country within three months.

The list includes the US-based cleric Fethullah Gulen, who Turkey blames for orchestrating last July's failed coup.

Former head of Moscow's Ukrainian library convicted of incitement of hatred against Russians

The former director of Russia's only state library of Ukrainian literature was convicted of inciting hatred against Russians.  Natalya Sharina was arrested in October 2015 after the Russian authorities confiscated books they called illegal anti-Russian propaganda from the library.  Julia Lyubova reports from Moscow.

Trump wants quick review of "travel ban"

US President Donald Trump has asked the Supreme Court to review his
so-called travel ban as quickly as possible.

UK election campaigns focus on security

Security is now high on the agenda of UK General Election campaigning, as it returns after being suspended following Saturday night's terror attack in London.


With just days to go before the vote, the UK Prime Minister has been defending her decision to reduce police numbers, while opposition leader Jeremy Corbyn has accused her of ignoring warnings over the cuts and urged the public to consider this on polling day.

China rules out India's NSG membership yet again

China has once again reiterated it will continue to block India's entry into the Nuclear Suppliers Group. Beijing claims that New Delhi's NSG bid has become 'more complicated' without specifying what the complications are.

This statement comes days ahead of India's inclusion into the China dominated Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit.

At least 14 people were arrested in the US city of Portland, Oregon after rival political rallies clashed in a city square on Sunday.

First Victim of London Bridge Attack Named

A Canadian woman has been named as the first victim of the London Bridge attack.


Christine Archibald is one of seven people killed in the incident, after a van drove into pedestrians, before three men wielding knives stabbed members of the public.

12 people arrested as police investigate London Bridge terror attack

Twelve people have been arrested in a major police operation  in the UK after three men went on a rampage Saturday evening in central London, killing 7 people and injuring around 50 more.

Police say they're carrying out a number of raids in East London as they work to identify the attackers who drove a vehicle at pedestrians on London Bridge before stabbing people in nearby Borough Market.

Assistant Commissioner Mark Rowley of the Metropolitan Police said they are confident that the three men acted without the help of others, however he said the police investigation would work until that possibility was ruled out.
