OAS members fail to agree action on Venezuela crisis after meeting in Washington


The Organisation of Meeting States failed to agree any action on the crisis in Venezuela after a meeting on Wednesday in Washington DC.

Additional subpoenas issued in Russia probe

The House Intelligence Committee has issued a total of seven subpoenas, asking for documents and testimony tied to the ongoing probe of how Russia meddled in the 2016 U.S. election.

U.S. President Donald Trump thinks these subpoenas should be the big story, even as White House staffers insist only an outside attorney will answer questions about the investigation.

China's second highest-ranking official has said the country plans to stick to the Paris climate agreement, regardless of whether the United States abandons it.

He made the comments during a visit with German chancellor Angela Merkel.

India will honour Paris Climate deal even if US pulls out

As Donald Trump readies to pull out of the Paris deal, India has indicated it will continue to strive to meet targets set for itself. In April, Trump had targeted India to say that the country is not contributing anything to the deal.

India along with other developing countries like China and Brazil have asked developed countries to honor their commitment to give $100 billion per year in aid. India is the third largest emitter of greenhouse gases after the US and China.
