Downing Street says it won't engage in "briefing war" with EU

The British government has responded to media reports of clashes between Prime Minister Theresa may and European Commission president Jean-Claude Junker by saying the UK will not be drawn into "a briefing war".    

It comes as the Prime Minister promises to standup to the 27 other European Union members in general election campaigning.   From London, Catherine Drew reports.

Greek finance minister says technical deal on writing of national debt has been reached

Greece may see some of its national debt written off according to the country's finance minister.

He says a technical deal has been agreed with Greece's international creditors which can pave the way to see part of the country's 375 billion dollar debt wiped off the slate.

UK government sources say they will not be drawn into a 'briefing war' with the European Commission over Brexit negotiations.

It follows claims in German media that a dinner in London last week saw UK Prime Minister Theresa May and European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker fall out over how Brexit talks will proceed.

Trump and Putin to talk Tuesday

White House says there's no timetable for heathcare vote

The White House says there is no timetable for a vote on a revised House healthcare bill. 
Republicans are still trying to round up the votes necessary to get the bill passed.  
A bill to repeal and replace Obamacare collapsed in March.
The president's spokesman Sean Spicer said things are moving in the right direction.

Former UK PM Tony Blair announces return to political life

The former British Prime Minister Tony Blair has announced a return to political life in the UK, twenty years to the day after he first entered Number 10 Downing Street.


Mr. Blair says he's deeply troubled by Britain's decision to leave the European Union, and by the failure of his own Labour Party to campaign aggressively in the country's June 8th election opposing that decision.
