US: Native American Tribe files legal challenge to Dakota Access Pipeline construction
A Native American tribe has filed a legal claim to stop the US army
corps of engineers from running the Dakota Access pipeline underneath
a lake on tribal land.
Construction on the pipeline is now set to begin after President Trump
issued an executive order green lighting the project.

Assad claims reports of mass executions in Syria are "fake news"
Syrian President Bashar al Assad has dismissed as "fake news" reports of mass executions at one of the country's prisons.
Earlier this week, Amnesty International claimed up to 13 thousand people were summarily executed at the Saydnaya prison between 2011 and 2015.
In an interview with reporter Michael Isikoff of Yahoo News, President Assad dismissed the claim.

Trump: "See You In Court" after appeals court ruling
US President Donald Trump is vowing to continue fighting to restore his travel ban, after an appeals court in San Francisco refused to reinstate it.
In an angry message on Twitter, the President said America's national security is at risk, although the appeals court judges said the government had not successfully made that case.
