COURT CHALLENGE TO UK REFUGEE SCHEME

The UK government's halt to a scheme to bring unaccompanied child refugees to Britain from Europe is being challenged in court (Friday).

The High Court will hear from campaigners who believe the government has not done enough to find places for vulnerable children to live.

The so-called 'Dubs amendment' refugee scheme required the UK to allow some children stranded in Europe into the country.

But the UK and French governments believe it encourages child trafficking.

Former child refugee Lord Dubs, who was behind the original amendment, says the move is misguided.
