US Senate expected to vote on Jeff Sessions

The next contentious confirmation vote for the U.S. Senate is Jeff Sessions to be the U.S. Attorney General.

Democrats have been using parliamentary tactics to stall the process, as they urge supporters to swamp the U.S. Senate with their opposition to President Trump's cabinet picks.

Firm accused of scamming NFL players and 9/11 responders

A company that provides financial advances to people waiting for legal
settlements has been accused of scamming former NFL players and 9/11
responders.

According to the lawsuit RD Legal Funding broke federal laws and
cheated people out of millions of dollars.

US Army grants permission to complete Dakota pipeline

The US army has told congress it will grant permission for the
controversial Dakota access pipeline.

Thousands of protesters blocked the construction of the oil pipe, last
year, as it runs near Native American territory.

UN Condemns Israeli Settlement Legislation

White House defends 'under-reported' terror list

The White House has defended its decision to publish a list of recent
terror attacks by saying ISIS is trying to do America harm.

It comes after US President Donald Trump said the media was under
reporting terrorist incidents, something discredited by global media
outlets.

The White House's list covers 78 attacks since September 2014, but
fails to include last week's Quebec mosque killings, or the murder of
nine African Americans in a Charleston church.

out of a desire to keep America safe.

US warns of more Iran sanctions

The White House has hinted that the US could impose more sanctions
against Iran.

It comes after America put extra measures in place in response to
Tehran's ballistic missile test.

White House confident about travel ban ruling

The Trump administration says it has "zero concern" the court ruling
on its travel ban will go in its favour.

An appeal court is considering if the White House's ban should remain
suspended or be reinstated.

Donald Trump signed an executive order stopping the refugee program
for 120 days and preventing citizens from seven Muslim-majority
countries from entering the US for 90 days.

White House spokesman Sean Spicer was optimistic about the court's decision.

Health Workers, Patients Protest in Venezuela

Health workers and patients protested Tuesday in Caracas to denounce bad conditions in the Venezuelan health sector.

Peace talks begin between Colombian government and ELN rebel group

Trump "can't believe" he faces immigration battle in courts

Pres. Trump continues to attack media

U.S. President Donald Trump is continuing to describe the American press as dishonest.

He took to twitter earlier to claim he has no relationship with Russia, when he's previously indicated he does.

Homeland Security takes blame for implementation of travel ban

John Kelly, the Secretary of Homeland Security, is taking responsibility for the implementation of the executive order limiting travel from the Middle East, which caused chaos at international airports.

The New York Times and other newspapers have reported that Secretary Kelly was not fully briefed on the executive order before U.S. President Donald Trump signed it.

Secretary Kelly told the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Homeland Security that the chaos was his fault.

U.S. President Donald Trump can't believe he has to fight for his executive order limiting travel from the Middle East in the courts.

He feels it's common sense that national security comes first, while states and others argue the executive order is unconstitutional.
