Donald Trump is President of the United States of America

Donald Trump is President of the United States of America.

Sworn in at noon local time, President Trump pledged to serve his country under oath, as America's 45th president.

The ceremony, marked by pomp and pageantry, was attended by Bill and Hillary Clinton, and the Obamas, among many other high-profile former presidents and officials.

Flanked by his wife and children, Donald Trump addressed thousands of supporters who had turned out to seem him inaugurated.

The inauguration of the 45th president of the united states is about to begin in washington dc.

President-elect Donald Trump and his wife have met the Obamas for tea at the White House ahead of the ceremony.

It's a tradition that dates back to the 1837 inauguration.

UNESCO calls Islamic State attack on Palmyra ruins a war crime

Russian officials optimistic ahead of Syria talks

Russia's Foreign Minister has announced he's hopeful that Syria
meeting set to get underway in Kazakstan next week can lead to direct
talks between the government and members of the Syrian opposition.

The talks were brokered between Turkey and Russia but Lavrov says he
hopes that the United States will be involved too.

Rescue teams have found eight people alive in a Italian hotel that's been buried in snow for two days.

An avalanche swept snow over the hotel after earthquakes were felt in central Italy on Wednesday.

AU to invite Adama Barrow for Summit

The African Union says it will extend an official invitation to Gambia's new president Adama Barrow to attend the upcoming AU summit on 30th and 31st January.

This as Yahya Jammeh continues to hold onto power in the West African country, despite losing elections last year.

One person dead - multiple injuries as car mows down pedestrians in Melbourne (CORRECTED)
