SUPREME COURT TO CONCLUDE BREXIT HEARINGS

Four days of hearings at the UK's Supreme Court on Brexit are due to conclude later (Thursday).

The Court is deciding whether the government needs parliamentary consent to trigger Article 50 which starts formal negotiations on Britain's exit from the EU.

The Supreme Court's ruling will come in January.

It comes after UK MPs backed Prime Minister Theresa May's Brexit timetable - she wants hit Article 50 by the end of March - while she conceded she'll publish some detail about her negotiating strategy.

Political reporter Theo Usherwood says that allows both opposition Labour and the Conservative government to claim a win.
