US Army halts North Dakota Access Pipeline

The controversial pipeline that sparked months of protests in North
Dakota has been denied access to the disputed land. That's according
to campaigners at Standing Rock, where Native American demonstrators
and their supporters have camped out in protest of plans to build the
Dakota Access Pipeline over native land.

Trump camp defends Taiwan call, Carrier deal

Donald Trump’s camp is dismissing criticism over the President elect’s conversation with Taiwan’s president. The US and Taiwan have not had diplomatic relations since 1979, as part of the “one China” principle - a decades-long agreement that ceased all diplomatic recognition of Taiwan, recognizing the People’s Republic of China as the sole, legal government.

A day after China lodged a diplomatic protest of the call, Trump's campaign manager Kellyanne Conway told "Fox News Sunday" that Mr. Trump knows about "one China"

Austria's far-right presidential candidate concedes defeat

The far-right candidate in Austria's presidential election has conceded defeat to the former leader of the country's green party.

UK SUPREME COURT TO HEAR BREXIT CASE

Obama blocks Aixtron sale

The president of the United States has blocked the sale of German chip equipment maker Aixtron to China's Fujian Grand Chip Investment Fund.

Trump risks rift with China after phone call with Taiwan leader

Donald Trump has risked a major potential rift between the US and China after it was announced that he spoke by phone with the President of Taiwan.


The US has no diplomatic relations with the island, and the leaders of the two countries haven't spoken since 1979.
