Austria warns EU-Turkey migration deal is at risk and wants contingency plan

The European Union's deal with Turkey in cooperating on the migration crisis is at risk of collapsing according to Austria.

Austria's defense minister says the EU must come up with some kind of plan B with tensions between Europe and Turkey rising.

Russia to bar US diplomats from monitoring its elections

LEAD:

Russia says it will no longer allow US diplomats to monitor any future Russian elections, Russian media quotes the Russian Foreign Ministry.  It comes after Moscow claimed that several states had rejected Russian requests to provide poll monitors.  Julia Lyubova reports from Moscow.

Over forty million Americans have already cast their votes for the next US President, with just about 24 hours left before the winner is announced.

Clinton Retains Polling Advantage in Final Hours of Campaigning

Hillary Clinton is retaining a small advantage in newly published polling data in the final hours of campaigning before election day begins.

Donald Trump is appealing to voters who feel disadvantaged by globalization and the current political elite in Washington. 

The Clinton campaign is being aided by last-minute appearances in key swing states by President Obama and celebrities including Bruce Springsteen and Lady Gaga.

New York boost security ahead of elections

After months of campaigning around the country both presidential
candidates will be in New York on election night.

Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton will be hosting separate events
roughly three kilometers apart and officials say there will be more
police on the streets than for any other presidential election.

Phillipines President cancels purchase of 26,000 US firearms

Philippines President Rodrigo Duterte said he has cancelled an order of weapons from the United States, after the planned sale of 26,000 assault rifles sale was stopped by the top US Democrat on the Foreign Relations Committee. That move came amid reports from human rights organizations citing several thousand extra-judicial killings since the start of Duterte's "war on drugs".

UN Security Council debates deadly threats to peacekeeping operations
