NatWest denies freezing Russia Today accounts

British bank NatWest has denied claims it closed accounts of Russian State TV broadcaster, Russia Today.


The bank admitted it had sent a letter to one of RT's  suppliers, though no accounts had been frozen.


But the broadcaster's editor in chief tweeted that all the channel's accounts in the UK had been closed, our UK correspondent Natalie Powell reports.

Ecuador confirms it cut Assange's internet

INTRO: Ecuador has confirmed it has temporarily cut off the internet connection to Wikileaks founder Julian Assange over concerns he was interfering in the US election...

Assange has been inside the Ecuadorian Embassy in London since 2012, seeking political asylum to avoid extradition to Sweden where he faces an allegation of rape.

Putin in Berlin for first time in four years to discuss Ukraine, Syria

Russian president Vladimir Putin comes to Berlin for the first time in four years on Wednesday, to take part a meeting with the leaders of France, Germany and Ukraine.

The focus of the summit is Ukraine, although French and German officials said they will also discuss the war in Syria where Russia is one of the main actors.

YAHOO PROFITS JUMP

Internet firm Yahoo's profits more than doubled in the last quarter.

It's the first financial update since Verizon Communications agreed to buy Yahoo for $4.8bn.

And it follow's Yahoo's disclosure last month of a hack that affected 500 million of its users' accounts.

Richard Truer of stockbroker Hargreaves Lansdowne says Yahoo's results beat expectations.

Russia's Vladimir Putin to meet Merkel, Hollande in Berlin

ICC to deliver verdict in Bemba witness tampering trial

Judges at the International Criminal Court are set to deliver their verdict in the witness tampering case against Congolese warlord Jean-Pierre Bemba and four others.

The former vice president of the Democratic Republic of Congo is already convicted of war crimes and crimes against humanity at the ICC.

New poll shows growing number of voters rejecting Trump

New poll numbers show that only 37% of American voters think Donald Trump has the judgement necessary to serve as US President.


And the Fox News survey shows that voters overwhelmingly reject the Republican Presidential candidate's proposals on immigration.

Trump and Clinton Prepare For Third and Final Debate

It's their last chance to go head to head before American voters cast their ballots.

President Obama is accusing Donald Trump of "whining" on America's Presidential campaign trail.

Mike Pence, Donald Trump's running mate, is calling the firebombing of a local Republican party office in Orange County, North Carolina an act of political terrorism.

Democrats in North Carolina responded, quickly raising $13,000 to fund the repair of the offices, in a rare show of bipartisan support during a brutal election season.

US Welcomes Cessation of Hostilities in Yemen

The US has said it welcomes the announcement of a renewable 72 hour cessation of hostilities in Yemen.

US concerned about sentencing of two Iranian-Americans

The Obama administration is renewing it's call for the immediate release of all American citizens unjustly held in Iran.

Siamak Namazi and Baquer Namazi, an employee of UNICEF - the United Nation's childrens' operation-  have each been sentenced to 10 years in prison.

Iran has claimed separately that Robert Levinson was a spy, when he went missing on Kish Island, Iran.

Steady progress in Mosul operations - Obama

U.S. President Barack Obama says steady progress is being made as Iraqi and Kurdish forces move into Mosul.

On the second day of military operations, Iraqi forces reportedly took control of a majority-Christian town, as Kurdish fighters reported tunnels and suicide car bomb attacks in retaliation by forces with the Islamic State.

During a Rose Garden press conference with the Italian Prime Minister, President Obama told reporters he sees steady progress.

PM Renzi hopes to win Italian referendum

Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi is hoping to win the upcoming December referendum on reforming that country's constitution.

The timing of the official visit to Washington was questioned, as both countries are facing massive political questions.

UN will not deliver aid to Syria until all parties agree to ceasefire

The United Nations has said there will be no possibility of getting
