Republican office firebombing draws condemnation

Republican and Democrat politicians have condemned the firebombing of a Republican campaign office in the US state of North Carolina.

It comes at a time of increasing tensions ahead of November's election, amid Donald Trump's accusations of vote rigging.

A top State Department official allegedly "pressured" the FBI to lower the degree of classification applied to at least one of Hillary Clinton's e-mails.

U.S: Journalist Amy Goodman faces riot charge

U.S. journalist, Amy Goodman, host and executive producer of Democracy Now! Has been charged of  participating in a "riot". 

The charges were filed after she filmed an attack on Native American anti-pipeline protesters in North Dakota.

Goodman said she will surrender to authorities in response to these charges.

US warplanes support operation to retake ISIS stronghold


The operation to retake the Iraqi city of Mosul from ISIS fighters is underway.

UN warn of mass exodus from Mosul

The United Nations warns that an offensive on the Iraqi city of Mosul
may force around 100,000 people to flee to neighbouring Syria and
Turkey.

The self-proclaimed Islamic State took control of Mosul in June 2014
and now government forces along with Kurdish troops have launched a
major offensive to win it back.

RT'S UK BANK ACCOUNTS 'FROZEN'

State-run broadcaster Russia Today has had all its UK accounts closed by Natwest Bank.

London says the decision is a matter for the bank, but it comes after the UK and US said fresh sanctions were being considered against Moscow over its military campaign in Syria.

The UK's finance ministry is denying reports Chancellor Philip Hammond is trying to slow down the Brexit process amid a cabinet split.

UK newspapers report cabinet colleagues report Mr Hammond is trying to 'undermine' Brexit by urging caution on plans to curb migration as Britain leaves the EU.

But government sources say while there are tensions in cabinet, there has been no major row, and Mr Hammond is not trying to obstruct Brexit.
