BIG SAM 'TO BE ENGLAND BOSS'

The British media is reporting Sam Allardyce is set to be named the new England manager.

His current EPL club Sunderland is understood to have been informed of the appointment.

It follows the sacking of Roy Hodgson after England's dismal euro 2016.

England's Football Association board meets on Thursday and it's reported Sam Allardyce will be revealed as new boss after that.

Trump speech-writer takes responsibility for Melania plagiarism

A speech-writer with Donald Trump's campaign says she's offered to resign after plagiarizing quotes from Michelle Obama and using them in Melania Trump's speech at the Republican Convention on Monday night.

The UK's new Prime Minister Theresa May has used her first Prime Minister's Questions session to attack her opposite number Jeremy Corbyn.

She pointed to Labour Party divisions under Mr Corbyn, who is embarking on a campaign to be re-elected leader having lost the support of a majority of his own MPs.

French Parliament extends state of emergency for six months

The UK is to give up its 2017 presidency of the European Union as it prepares to leave the bloc.

Britain was due to rotate into the presidency for six months next year.
