The U.S. Justice Department is set to announce / has announced it has seized upwards of $1 billion in assets owned by 1MDB - Malaysia's development bank (1130am am Eastern / 1530 GMT).
The assets seizure is set to cause problems in the key U.S. - Malaysia relationship at a time when the Obama administration continues to emphasize a pivot to Asia.
