BFM-TV: "60 dead, 100 injured" in apparent terror attack on Nice

Scores of people have been killed in the southern French city of Nice after an apparent terror attack on a crowd celebrating Bastille Day.


A truck drove into a crowd, and there were reports of gunshots being fired.


French TV station BFM is reporting that 60 people are dead and more than 100 people injured, and the city authorities are urging people in Nice to stay indoors.


Reporter Chris Golds is in the south of France and says the news has brought fear to people across the region.

There's been no claim of responsibility for the attack on Nice, but French counter-terrorism consultant Olivier Guetta says the country has recently joined air strikes against Islamic State targets in Iraq and Syria, and other terror groups elsewhere.

Dozens killed in apparent terrorist attack in Nice

Dozens of people have reportedly been killed when a lorry deliberately drove into crowds in the southern French city of Nice.
Local police have described it as "an attack."

As many as 30 people are reported to have been killed in an apparent terrorist attack in the French city of Nice.


A lorry drove into a crowd of people celebrating Bastille Day in the city.


There were then reports of gun-shots in the city, and people are being ordered to shelter in place.

US to possibly propose military plan to Russia targeting Al-Nusra in Syria

Trump "picks Pence" as running mate

Trump to unveil VP candidate on Friday

Donald Trump says he will unveil his Vice Presidential candidate on Friday in New York City.

There is fevered speculation about his choice, with three front runners:  Newt Gingrich, the former Speaker of the House of Representatives….Mike Pence, the Governor of Indiana….and Chris Christie, the Governor of New Jersey.

But a surprise is also possible when Mr. Trump addresses the media in New York on Friday morning.
